ABOUT SHARON MOODY
Sharon Moody is known for her signature trompe l’oeil comic book paintings. In astounding, hyper-realistic style, she paints the pages of an open comic book, which looks as if it had been carelessly left lying on a flat surface. Each page is meticulously painted in detail, complete with action heroes and melodramatic text. In the Pop Art tradition, she keeps us off-guard with her solemn handling of an everyday, childish subject.
Moody’s paintings are garnering an increasing amount of attention from collectors and critics. The artist has exhibited across the country and her work is held in private and public collections including George Washington University, Washington, DC and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities Art Bank, among others. She currently teaches at Georgetown University, Washington DC. BIO
